Worldwide Marriage Encounter Recognized as International Association of the Faithful
The Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life has officially recognized Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) as an International Association of the Faithful, marking an important milestone for the Catholic movement dedicated to strengthening marriages and family life.
The recognition was granted on 11 March 2026 at the Vatican in Rome. On that day, a ceremony of recognition took place at the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life in Vatican. The following day, 12 March 2026, members of the International Ecclesial Team of WWME Danielle and Clarel Marie with bishop Michael Warfel, together with former and current members of the World Council, were received in an audience with the Pope.
The meeting highlighted the Church’s appreciation for initiatives that support married couples in their vocation and promote stronger family relationships within the Christian community.
During the audience, the Pope emphasized the value of such efforts, noting the importance of programs that help couples grow together in faith and commitment. He acknowledged the important role of initiatives like Worldwide Marriage Encounter in helping couples deepen their relationship and live out their vocation to marriage within the Church.
